Gender and Society in Post-Revolution Iran: A 45-Year Perspective
We will gather around Dr Elaheh Rostami-Povey on Iran, 45 years after the revolution, focusing on women's and gender issues.
Dr Rostami-Povey is a retired academic from SOAS, University of London, whose research has focused on women's and gender issues in Iran, Afghanistan, and the Middle East.
Her publications include Women, Power and Politics in 21st Century Iran (Routledge, 2012) and Iran's Influence: A Religious-Political State and Society in its Region (Bloomsbury, 2010).
She has also written extensively on feminism in Iran, women and civil society organizations in Iran,
as well as on women, war, conflict, and the Afghan diaspora in journals such as Feminist Review Collective,
Journal of Development Studies, Journal of Iranian Studies, and Journal of Development and Practice.
